15' aluminum gangway

Gangway manufacturing building with gangway

Our all-welded aluminum gangways feature aluminum decking with an aggressive skid-resistant surface, as well as a built in kickplate. Though lighter than its wood-decked counterpart, it is still stronger, with a live load capacity of up to 100 pounds per square foot on a 40 ft. x 48 in. ramp. Gangways of this style are available in lengths from 16 to 80 feet, and widths of up to 5 feet. Other lengths and widths may be available upon request. Possible accessories include ADA hinges, handrails, and transition plates, security rails, etc.

Whether you require a 30 ft. long, 36 in. wide gangway for your private dock or a 60 ft. long, 60 in. wide gangway for your municipality, Superior Docks can take care of your gangway needs.

ADA Compliant Transition Plate Booklet

Aluminum Gangway Transition Plate Brochure (12 Mb pdf)

Please review our booklet on low profile bottom chord vs. e-channel construction, which allows for a much shorter transition plate. A shorter transition plate is desirable when complying with ADA regulations for gangways. A hard copy is available free of charge. Please use our contact form and request a booklet in the comment box.

The U.S. government is in the process of instituting new accessibility guidelines which will directly effect recreational boating facilities. Foremost among these effects is that gangways must either meet a maximum 1:12 slope or be at least 80 feet long. Superior Docks has recently engineered gangways to meet all of these specifications, allowing you build new facilities or improve older ones without paying custom-job prices. » More Information
